Advice - Apchem

Hi,

I am thinking of taking APchem for college credit and I like chemistry overall. Though I have found out that if I do indeed recieve college credit for APchem, I will only opt out of the chemisty class and not the lab class. If I were to do this, I would not understand the lab for I would not have taken the chemistry class with the rest of my college class.

With this being said, Do I take APchem at all? Do I take APchem and then if I were to get the college credit to not accept it? Instead of taking Apchem, take classes at a community college?

Any advice would be appreciated, or if you or a son/daughter have been in this situation, what would you recommend.

Thanks!

The labs sheets that explain the experiment to you generally give you enough detail to understand the experiment. The labs for Gen Chem are extremely similar to those in AP Chemistry. Reading the lab manuel or whatever explains the experiment should be enough to refresh your memory, in my opinion. That said, college Gen Chem is much easier than AP, so community college may be good since it will be easier + you get lab credit.
