I'm still looking into different AP Chem alternatives in case D's school drops it.

Anyone have any experience taking an AP Chem exam after taking the equivalent General Chemistry (roughly same syllabus, same book, etc) at a community college?

At my highschool we have pseop (Post Secondary Enrollment Option Program) which I will be doing next year as a senior. I plan taking Physics and maybe taking the AP test as well because I already got an a in my high school physics class. Now pseop allows us to earn a credits in highschool and college at the same time while taking the class at a local community college or university. My question is if she already took to class at community college she would already have the credits for colleges (assuming they would transfer) what is the need for the test?

The AP Exams are standardized. College courses are not. Many good schools will give credit and/or placement for an AP Exam but not for a community college course.
