Advice for a Rising Junior

GPA: 3.7 W, 3.6 UW (this is an estimate because my school does not give it out)

PSATS: 191 (66 M, 65 CR, 65 W)

Rank: 25/170

School: I go to a small public school of less than 800 students. My school is ranked 5/78 in the state.

Awards: Letters About Literature State Semi-Finalist

EC’s: Model UN (10,11) , Math Team (9,10) , Student Council (10, PR representative 11), Band (9,10,11), Newspaper (10,11), Brain Bee (10), JV Field Hockey (9, 10) Varsity Indoor Track (9, 10, 11), Varsity Outdoor Track (9,10,11)

Volunteering: Obama Campaign 2012 (40 hours)

Freshman Classes: Introduction to Literature III, Integrated Science I (H), Algebra/Geometry II (H), Spanish II, World History III, Concert Band, Showtime (select all-girls choir), Gym/Freshman Foundations

Sophomore Classes: American Studies (H), Spanish III, Integrated Science II (H), Algebra Geometry III (H), Economics, Concert Band, Gym/Teen Roles

Junior Classes: AP Gov, AP Calc AB, AP Bio, AP World, Spanish IV, Western Lit (H), Physics Mathematically Rigorous, Concert Band

Projected Senior Classes: Class at local Ivy, APUSH, AP Enviro, AP Lit, Spanish IV (H), AP Stats, Concert Band

*Note, my school only offers APs to juniors and seniors and AP Calc BC is not offered. American Studies is a joint history and literature class. Gym, Freshman Foundations and Teen Roles are all required by the state. And also I took Pre-Calc (H) over the summer.

Besides improving my GPA, do you have any other advice?

Yeah I got some advice. Don’t wake up when the clock doesn’t make it’s noise

Haha. Ok. Thank you

In the words of my infinitely wise AP English teacher - “Don’t suck.”
