Advice for a transfer student please

I'm a transfer student applying for spring admissions. My list of schools so far (basically in order of preference) is:

Cornell
Rice
Tufts
Vanderbilt
Emory
Drew
Tulane

Could you please give some suggestions for other schools to consider?
My info:
3.9 GPA with AA from 2 year college - planning to major in economics
1470 SAT 1, poor SAT II's
secretary and president of PTK honor society
Very strong piano accomplishments

I'm slightly limited in where I can apply to since I'll be starting in the Spring semester. I was also considering NYU, but it seems like they have relatively poor financial aid.

Hepcat: I assume from your list that you're primarily interested in transferring to a mid-sized university. Without knowing more about your interests, it's hard to make recommendations. That said, Brown, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, and WUSTL are other mid-sized universities that admit spring transfers.

One suggestion I have is to use the usnews.com website (costs 19.95, I believe, to join) to determine which schools admit spring transfers. For each school, the website will also tell you how many transfers applied and how many were accepted in 2004. No distinction is drawn between spring and fall transfers, but with that information, you at least have some idea whether it's worthwhile to attempt to transfer to any particular school. You may need to check with individual schools to see how transfer-friendly they are to potential spring transfers.

Thank you for mentioning NW and WUSTL! I over looked them and am now very interested in them.
Brown, unfortunately, has the same application due date for both semesters so that's not an option.

Another thing to think about, Hepcat, is housing. Do you want to live in a dorm? If so, you'll want to check about availability for spring transfers. I know that Northwestern, for instance, does not guarantee housing to fall transfers, and there is a general shortage of housing on campus. WUSTL also does not absolutely guarantee housing to transfers, but as a practical matter I think that every fall transfer who wants it, gets it. (My daughter is transferring to WUSTL this fall.) But it's possible that there is less available housing in the spring.
