This is certainly a life hazard for those with lots of talents. Encourage her to figure out what she enjoys and why, both in the classroom and outside it. Really think deeply about that! If she tries something she doesn’t like, she shouldn’t view it as a failure but instead as having gained a useful data point on something she doesn’t like. It can feel like one choice eliminates another, but often, that’s only temporary.
I would encourage her to pick a major she enjoys, work with a career counselor, and work a bit. She can get a graduate degree in public health, urban planning, or whatever else grabs her later.
What you major in and what you do professionally do not have to be one and the same.
