I'm double majoring but I want my degree in biology as well. lol i know it's stupid to continue at this point because my grades are really horrible. Let's just say i have PASSED all the classes. And I dont mean my grades are horrible as in I get A-'s or B+'s. Anyways, I'm going to retake courses at community college as well, but at this point I can't declare with all my prereqs done except for one.

What should I do? Does it matter? I have priority registration (dont ask why please), and so would the only point to declaring be that i can get classes that i need?

two reasons - first, some classes have openings by category and may have NON for non-majors, thus even a first day priority registration time won’t get you in. Second, if on a waitlist for something (could happen even with priority if you changed your mind and attempted to switch to a different class which has no more open slots), whoever clears the waitlist is likely to skip over undeclared or nonmajors in preference for those who are declared ib or mcb or . . .

wait…i don’t get the question. so are you asking whether you should declare IB or what?

What’s your reasoning for wanting a degree in Biology? Does it actually pertain to your future career plans?

Additionally, why are you retaking the courses at a CC? For your own benefit?

What year are you? If you already have priority registration, there isn’t much point in declaring IB right away, though being declared may help you in some circumstances as rider mentioned above. You can declare (or change) a major at any point up until the semester in which you plan to put yourself on the degree list/graduate (though I’d look into residency requirements). If you have the classes (and at least a 2.0), you normally wouldn’t have any problems declaring IB even at that point.
