My answer would be to long :D I only have 5 minutes left of computer class, maybe when i get home....

After he asked he told me that this actually happened. Got two sentences in the story and I bursted out lol >.< I saw this on the history channel, and he was like yup! it was on the history channel after the book was written.

Well now i can add that to my answer when they ask me that in my interview! ;) I have mine on December 11th. I have not had one before and am slightly nervous but I'm ok with that and here is why...
I have been in speech and debate for four years. I've won several meets and this year am lookin at state (not to brag tho, but as background). I have found that your best "on the spot" thinking comes when you are slightly nervous. Granted I've had practice, but we get freshmen who walk in to a round, COMPLETELY nervous, and end up throwing off us seniors every now and then. So, to get to the point, for those of you who are nervous, as most if not all will be, I'm sure that you will be fine because you think quicker and unless you have some nervous twitch such as tapping or glancing quickly around the room (DO NOT DO ANY OF THAT :) ) you will be able to speak well too. Its completely backwords from what you would expect but being nervous helps in a lot of places. So good luck to you! I am sure you all will do fine...I hope i do too! haha

i had my only interview yesterday and it went quite well actually. I was surprised when I walked in the room to see a teammates father who is in the Air National Guard and has known me from church since I was really young AND my ALO sitting on the board. It helped me a lot I think because they already knew what kind of person I was. I brought an updated resume to my interview also, and they liked that a lot. The AF Colonel there, the head of the board, also was impressed I knew the saying on the Core Values Ramp. Just try to demonstrate that you already know a lot about the Academy because that shows you really do want to go there

WOW thats awesome that you knew the people who interviewed you :D

I'm surprised they allowed that... My ALO was sitting in on my congressman board and he wasn't allowed to be in the room when I was interviewed. Hmmm...

hah, each location is different

yeah i was extremely surprised too. nice surprise though

That is a nice suprise :D

Ya, I have a similar situation coming up this thursday. I am in Civil Air Patrol and the dad of one of the other kids from my state that I am friends with, is on the board. I've talked with him TON's of times about it and he knows me relatively well. Also, there is a Ret. Air Force Colonel has known me for six years now who is on the board, and every time he sees me he asks when he's going to see me in front of the board. I assume that kinda stuff is ok? And I mean, I guess it never hurts to have those connections. ;)

hahaha doesnt hurt at all.
