Advice For College Selection

Hey guys, I am really quite excited as I've been accepted into almost all of the college to which I applied. However, I seem to be unable to make a decision, with all colleges having their own benefits, this will be a very difficult choice. I also plan to major in Biology and go the pre-med route.

So far, I am stuck deciding between these colleges (listed in order of interest):

New College of Florida (out of state tuition)
Wabash College (15k/yr scholarship)
Antioch College (Full tuition scholarship)
Eckerd College (16k/yr scholarship)
Stetson Univeristy (22ish?/yr)
Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) (In-state tuition)

Since I was a freshman in high school, I had dreamed of attending New College, and I consider it my first choice. However, with out of state tuition, New College will likely put me heavily in debt.
As an independent student with an EFC of $0, I hope that with institutional financial aid the costs will be more manageable.

Any advice?
Thanks,
Neunundneunzig

My advice is not to think about the offers in terms of a Xk/yr scholarship but to think of it in net price terms. E.g., if Wabash was $40k/yr all-in (don’t know that it is, just pulling a number out of the air for illustrative purposes), then don’t think of the $15k/yr scholarship, think of the 25k/yr net cost of attending.

If you’re interested in pre-med, definitely take lynxinsider advice and go with the cheapest and save the loans for med school.

Hi,

I am planning to attend to one of this college to get a pre-med or biology degree. I applied to Baylor, University of Florida, IUPUI and University of Alabama at birmingham. Which one do you recommend me to go? After getting my degree I am planning to apply to the med-school having my top choice the college in where I got my degree.
