Advice for Human Development Major?

Hello,

I am a rising sophomore at Cornell. I am a HD major. My GPA both semesters was very high, however, second semester truly took a toll on my mental/physical health. I felt as though my workload was simply too much (16 credits (17 w/ PE) + 2 credits of research) second semester.

I am stressing out so much right now trying to plan the rest of my semesters at Cornell, fearing that they will be even harder/more stressful than this one. I was wondering if any HD majors/people that have taken HD courses have any advice/helpful insight/reviews on courses or the major itself. I have heard that HD is notriously an easy major, however, is this true? I am very scared, and fear that I do not have the mental stamina to survive 6 more semesters like the one I just had :frowning:

Any advice?

Talk to your faculty advisor!!! Be honest about how you are feeling about your course load. It may be possible to take a course here or there in the summer so you can drop down a class during the year. You also may have enough credits towards graduation that you can drop down a class if you are continuing to do research for credit. Take a deep breath and remember you dont have to figure this out alone. Cornell wants you to succeed too and they will help you!

FWIW, I thought junior and senior year were actually easier than freshman/sophomore year (although it was a long time ago). I was a developmental psych major and took most of my classes in A&S and Hum Ec.
