Ok, I am already anticipating people who will tell me to look at older threads but I am really lost here :/
I will be attending Dartmouth this fall and I just wanted some insight on how classes are structured and how I should ease myself into the pre med track.
What attracted me to Dartmouth was its balanced liberal arts education. I am not just interested in pursuing a run-of-the-mill Bio major. I absolutely love literature (both English and Spanish) and the social sciences. I am also interested in trying out other career opportunities (most likely in finance). Would this be feasible in such a competitive pursuit such as medical school applications?
I am used to taking AP classes in everything, so I guess I can be called a jack of all trades :P but would taking Chem, Stat, and English my first term be a good way to start?
How many terms of the sciences do I need to take? I just don't want to spend my entire time taking STEM since I get bored so easily.

You can be premed and major in anything, as long as you cover the premed requirements.

There is lots of info on the D website. Try starting with this page:

Should I get my premed reqs out of the way first?

There are specific recommendations re first term schedule on the page I linked to:

Hi!
So, I want to major in English Lit/Creative Writing and possibly minor in Bio or Econ. I also really want to do a Spanish Study Abroad the summer before my sophomore year.
Basically, I want to take lots of English classes as well as study abroad and also satisfy premed reqs/extracurriculars, and if possible, take finance courses that could potentially lead to a career on Wall Street. Is this too crazy?!
I’ve tried to see the possibilities for this fall, and I would potentially be taking:
- Humanities 1/2 (or Writing 5)
- Chem 10 (if I pass the placement)/ Chem 5/ Bio 11 (? - I hope not)
- Math 8
Winter/Spring 2015: - Freshman seminar
- Chem 6 (if needed)/ Spanish 9
- Math 10
Spring 2015: - Chem 51 (Orgo)
- English
- Bio 12 - Cell Structure
