I plan on applying for Ivy League colleges or any other top schools and my course requests for sophomore year are as follows:
AP Calculus A/B
AP European History
Advanced/Symphonic Band
Spanish III Honors
AP Chemistry
English 10 Honors
AP Statistics
Principles of Biomedical Science Honors
*Note that I go to a pretty good high school imo (top 300 in the nation)
I’m deciding if I can handle these courses. I’m also interning for Lockheed Martin, doing research at a local university, participating in the school’s swim/dive team, chemistry club, and student council association. These are the EC’s I’m probably going to stick with for the rest of high school. I still want to have fun and hang out with friends time to time. Any advice for me?
Have you taken chemistry honors already? If not, take that before AP chem. It’s a senior class, one or the hardest APs.
Drop AP Stats. Looks like overkill. Taking calculus as a sophomore, you really don’t need that class. Take a study hall or a “fun” class instead.
How is this all laid out already? Aren’t you moving high schools in the next year per your other post? In that post you said “the curriculum at the new high school seems way more advanced and in-depth than my old school, so I am not sure if I can do well” Be sure not to overwhelm yourself.
