advice for UT austin essay

I'm supposed to consider my lifetime goals and con side how my academic and extracurricular activities will help me achieve these goals. this question is very difficult for me because i (like I'm sure many other high school students) am having a really tough time figuring out what i want to do with my life. does anyone have any advice that i could use to write this essay without making myself seem completely clueless?

Note : if it helps my main EC's in high school have to do with doing a lot of extra community service (tutoring, some mission trips, soup kitchen) and playing saxophone in my high school band. Thing is I don't really see those having to do much with my lifetime goals...

Do you have any other choices for an essay? If this is the only choice, when is it due?

It is required. Lifetime goals --that’s a bit heavy. Can you think about general goals? To be a professional or an academic…to be cultured or well traveled? do you have any majors in mind?

I made my life time goal pretty broad (to be successful) but I tried my best to tie it into what I want to major in.
For example I want to major in Chemistry, so I talked about Science Olympiad and taking many science classes.
I don’t think you have to write out everything you want to do in life perfectly.

Show that you have the initiative and work ethic to find your passion and are open to trying new things, etc. Not knowing exactly what you want to do doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Look at it like you’re not limiting yourself.

Thanks guys ill try to take this stuff into consideration, preciate it, btw Brown Parent I’m thinking of studying either poli sci or Econ
