Advice needed for college options after illness

Hello, everyone-

I am twenty years old, and, though I would like to take a few online courses at a community college this year, the illnesses (both mental and physical) that I have experienced over the past four years have resulted in a lack of a high school diploma. Before my illnesses were severe enough to inhibit my education, I was on Student Council and had a 3.92+ G.P.A., and I was a dedicated student. When I entered junior year, however, my health worsened, and I found myself unable to complete many of my classes (along with other illnesses, I had a nervous breakdown), and have been completing classes here and there ever since. I want to finally finish high school and go on to college this year, but I’ve seen through my research that you have to be enrolled in an actual high school in order to finish your diploma at a community college, and I just finished one of my enrollments at an accredited online high school this February. Though I still have some classes to go, is there any way that I can enter community college without my high school diploma, or finish it there without being enrolled in an actual high school? Thank you so much.

I guess you are talking about Dual Enrollment when you use college classes toward your HS diploma. You have to be enrolled in HS for that.

Why not take GED or finish your online HS in a more dedicated fashion? I doubt you will find another arrangement but the place to ask ould be at your local CC.

Thank you! I am definitely exploring those options as well.
