Advice needed

There's something I hadn't thought about until now that I need some advice on.

I'm a sophomore at St. Philips and just recently realized that I have a good chance (3.98 GPA) to get into UofTexas at Austin. I had always planned on transferring to Texas State, but lately I've been excited about the prospect of going to UT.

The major concern I'm having is UT's reputation for having impersonal professors who are difficult to get to know. One of my top priorities in a university is going to be getting to know the professors well and communicating with them frequently. Does anyone know how valid this concern is? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Obviously a UT degreee has the respect, prestige, starting salary, and job prospects that a Texas State degree just can't compare with, but I'm scared of leaving college without having the potential for some top notch professor recommendations if/when I decide to go to graduate school. Any advice would be awesome.

UT will be very different from St. Philips. You shouldnt have to much of a hard time, since your not a freshman.

What is your major?

Go to UT, if your in a position to go to a better school go.
