So i really love the Spanish language and as of right now that is my declared major, however I feel as if I still want more besides the language, its something that has been nagging me these last few months, as I also have a passion for culture, languages, and so i did some research and sociology sounded to be a perfect fit. Do you guys think it would be wise to consider double majoring in sociology and spanish?

Not really cause you wont get a job

sure, why not…sociology is generally considered an easier major and spanish is probably harder (but depends how good you are at languages) so it shouldn’t be too hard to do them both. definitely check all of the requirements for each major in advance and plan out your schedule so you can squeeze it all in

as for getting a job, spanish is pretty handy and college major usually doesn’t have much to do with a job anyway. it’s not like most majors like english, chemistry, international relations or whatever lead to a direct job anyhow

^Yea but at least those majors that you mentioned give you skills that could be useful to employers. Spanish would only be useful if they needed someone fluent and sociology…I don’t even know what use it serves, it’s the study of things people already know.

Spanish/sociology double major? Sounds fine by me. But then again, I’m a Chinese/Journalism major, so anything with a foreign language gets brownie points from me. :)
