<p>Hi there, I’m joining the OSU family next fall an am really excited! I need some advice from current students though about what to bring/not bring with me. Are there items that you wish you had remembered as a freshman, or items that were completely useless to you? I’d really appreciate some input on this.</p>

<p>Well, all I know is that lava lamps, toasters, waffle makers, etc. are forbidden. This is quite devastating to me. There is a list of stuff you should bring on the OSU website...but the link has escaped me. Check out the OSU Class of 2010 community on Facebook to see a whole discussion about this - it's a lot more active than the College Confidential boards.</p>

<p>Special note: make sure you know your medical insurance information and where to/who to go to if you get sick. I had a room mate with a bad sinus infection, strep, and mono, all first quarter!! Avoid the hassle of calling all the medical places on campus when you are actually sick (it's super frustrating and you might get a later appointment), know before you go.</p>
