Could you please advice a good college prep school in S California? Private or public. Religious affiliation doesn't matter.

I know a little about private schools in the region. A highly selective day school with excellent track record in college placement is Harvard-Westlake, which is located in N Hollywood. Another school with similar reputation is the Polytechnic School at Pasadena. Brentwood and Marlborough (all-girls) are solid choices.

Webb. 10char

Cate and Thacher, natch!

if you go to Boardingschoolreview.com (google boarding school review) and you can sort schools by state.

^Or you can just type in “California” into the website search bar, and it will give you the word on the west coast schools. But, as has been said, Cate and Thacher are considered the best, closely followed by Webb. If you want Thacher, be prepared to handle a horse nearly every morning. Cate dropped it in the 40’s, but Thacher still requires it of all freshmen. If you are capable of being a day student, however, I would say Harvard-Westlake would be your best option. But seriously, H-W is like an Exeter level school.

^^As is Polytechnic. But it and Harvard-Westlake are both only day schools, so you have to live in the area. Great schools though.

Both Polytecch and H-W are highly rigorous schools. Polytech upper school seems a lot smaller than H-W though and it’s in the east side of the city. With LA being so spread out, you can only choose to apply to one or the other. OP is probabaly local to S CA but then he seems to have abandoned the thread he started.

The H-W headmaster comes from Groton. :)

Case and thatcher are probably equal to Exeter and the HADES. However, see my previous posts regarding Thatcher

^^ Which have been, and continue to be, as accurate as your spelling of the school names.

Yes I am sarcastic
You refuse to believe what we and others have seen

^Yes. We are going to believe some guy with a grudge against schools he has been to ONCE as opposed to actual parents and students -_-

…and who doesn’t seem to realize that the “E” in that stupid acronym stands for “Exeter.”

H-W is known to be the best day prep school in Los Angeles area.

Loyola and Flintridge Prep are also very good. (also in L.A.)
