I took the May SAT II bio M and got a 760 (retake?). I'm also planning to take math II in June and am fairly confident I'll get in the 750-800 range. I'm not sure what I'm planning to major in, but it'll probably be either computer science or something medical-related. Should I take another SAT II? I was thinking of maybe doing literature, but it looks difficult, and I'm not so great at analyzing prose or poems. History also isn't my forte.

Will it matter if I take the Chinese SAT II? I'm Chinese, but so many people take it that I'm not sure if it'll look that great on my app. Or should I take the Japanese SAT II instead? I got a 3 on the AP Japanese test, which isn't that great.

Congrats on a great bio score! You shouldn’t even consider retaking it, as you’re not at all required to be perfect for colleges to consider your score. There’s very little difference between a 750+ and an 800.

It’s not really necessary to take more than 2 subject tests, and furthermore, you won’t get any respect for taking a subject test in a language that most people who take it natively speak, and consequently get great scores on.
If you’re looking to enter a science field, maybe consider taking another science test?

If you think you’ll do good at the Chinese subject test, I think you should take it as it has no harm at all if you scored good on it.
However, you should consider it as an “extra” subject test instead of a “required” subject test.

Also, if the college only requires 2 subject test, there is also no harm as just taking two, though if you think you’ll also do good at other subject tests, then take it.

And I agree with HungryJoe that you should take another science subject test since you didn’t mention that you are bad at it, and since you are thinking of science-related field; you don’t necessary need to take different categories of subjects, subject tests are for the field that you are interest of entering in and subjects that you are good at.

I would definitely take another science subject test (most likely chem), but I’m taking AP Chem senior year, and by then, it’ll be too late to take the SAT. Honestly, how hard would it be for me to get a 750+ on chem if I took it in… November? How much extra studying would I have to do? Could reading Barron’s or some other prep book help enough? I’ve taken regular chem, but the class was so easily boring that I slept through half of it. How hard is AP chem in comparison to regular?

I take that it’s better to go for Japanese then, instead of Chinese?
