I will be transferring from a CC to a CSU for the Spring 2014 semester and I was looking for some advise on what I should do. I've completed enough GE classes for both Industrial Design majors and Marketing majors. My dilemma is what major to choose. I have a passion for both and I have been back and forth on what to state my major is on my applications.
If someone could answer any of my questions it would be tremendously appreciated. I would love to do a double major in both but my top choice, CSULB, states, "Unfortunately, the Industrial Design program is not accepting second bachelor degree applicants nor master degree applicants at this time." A: Does this mean that I can't double major? B: Do you have any advice on what I should do or a path I should try and take? C: Should I major in one and then see where it takes me? Thanks for reading.

A second bachelor degree would be if you had already graduated from college, and wanted to enroll at CSULB in order to study Industrial Design at the undergraduate level. There probably is no problem with completing a double major, but you should clarify the situation by emailing them and asking. If you can’t double major, your best option might be to start as a major in Industrial Design with a minor in Marketing, and then switch majors if you decide you’d prefer to.

Also be sure that CSULB allows you to transfer in Spring 2014 semester. Majority of CSU’s only allow transfers to apply for the Fall semester.

MAJOR: Industrial Design
MINOR: Business-Marketing.

I’ll definitely consider minoring in Marketing. Thanks for the advice!
