Advice

Hello everyone,

I am currently a freshman at UC Berkeley, and my intended major is economics. I am not sure whether I should go to law school or business school, but I know for certain my future will be at one of these two. GPA is currently at 3.7

If I go to law school, I would like to go to any of the top 6 law schools (Yale, Stanford, Harvard, UChicago, Columbia, NYU). I had an opportunity to go to UChicago but due to financial reasons could not.

From research, I know the priorities are:

1.) GPA
2.) LSAT
3.) Everything else

For those of you currently in law school or who are preparing to go there, what advice do you have?

Thank you!

Do well, preserve your gap. Rock the LSAT, don’t do anything that may come up and bite you when it is time to apply for the bar.

sybble719 is correct. Also, plan to take a year off (or more) between college and law school and work in a cool job that fits your life’s passions, so get good summer internships.

With a 3.7 from Berkeley, you should be in good shape.

Thank you @sybbie719 and @HappyAlumnus.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what courses would help me- aside from generic writing courses?

any courses in which you can earn an A.
