Hey Guys,
I need some advice here. So I am a rising senior in an extremely competitive private high school (you have to taken an admissions test to get into the school), who took two mostly honors and AP classes but unfortunelty got crushed this year. I’m still not done with testing for the year but my overall weighted GPA is looking like a 3.7ish. Anyways, I just got my ACT score back: 34. What would you guys do with this? I have always dreamed of going to a prestigious college but was turned off because I knew I didn’t have a shot with this GPA. Would you say this ACT score changes thing? What are some colleges you would recommend with this unique situation?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
If everything else is on par with your ACT, you’ll be fine. Maybe not the Ivies, but you’ll definitely get into great schools!
The best person to speak to would be your guidance counselor who should know what schools students with your academic profile from your HS have been accepted to. With your GPA and ACT you should have a number of fine choices.
Agree you should talk to your guidance counselor. If you are in an extremely competitive HS how does your 3.7 stand against your classmates? Are you in the top 10% or the bottom half or somewhere in between?
As far as recommending colleges we would need more information. Budget? What do you want to study? Geographic location? What are you looking for in a school?
