I am an all AP class taking high schooler that ended up with a 3.1 unweighted and a 3.6 weighted gpa by the end of junior year. This GPA is subpar but I did have some personal issues at home and I can show an upward trend throughout the three years. My ACT however is a strong 32. This combo is putting me in a very awkward position seeing that half of my numbers are good and the other is bad. I have many extracirriculars such as being an active hospital volunteer (200+ hours) , Chess Team, Water Polo Team and a church leader. Can I get some input on what my acceptance rate guage should be? Keep in mind my business along with rigorous schedule and solid ACT score. I know the GPA is a doozy but my AP scores are also 4s and 5s. Thank you!
Your AP scores are going to make no difference in admission, only show how rigorous your course load is. Your 3.6 on it’s own is not a killer if your class rank is in top 10%
Your own HS guidance counselor is best positioned to advise you based upon the history of similar kids and schools they targeted and were accepted into. Also, have you had the “money talk” with your parents? What can you afford?
