Advise colleges i should apply to

<p>i dont know much about the college selecting and application process because i am just newly exposed to this system of college applications.
please advise me on what colleges or what range of colleges i should apply to this fall.
in addition, i am in a pretty confused situation. my identity and applicant status are unclear.

Ethnicity: Chinese, Canadian, American... (k so i was born in China, got Canadian citizenship, moved to US just a year ago in the beginning of my junior year)

SATI although i have never taken the official one, the practice ones i have taken in prep classes is the best i can offer right now.
math 800
CR 700 (its fluctuating... thats why i need a real sat score to compare to)
WR 700 ( same as above-_-)
i will be taking the SAT I this November for the first and only time. due to my newness in this country, i counld not have prepared earlier on.</p>

<p>If this is any help, you can take the SAT in October. Also, if you live near PA or NY, the ACT is offered in September in those states.</p>

<p>well your information is slightly confusing and is incomplete so you're not really telling us a full story, but from what I see, you have a good shot at most decent colleges. However, we can't just recommend what college you should go to without having any information about YOU. What are your interests, possible subjects you want to major in, do you want to live in a city or somewhere more rural, etc. etc. (the list goes on forever) </p>

im planning to take my sat 2 in october and take the sat 1 in november.
i will be taking 3 sat 2 on the same day which are math 1 math2 and physics.</p>

<p>about me personally. i am asian, im fluent in chinese and english. not foby though
i am mostly looking to a engineering or a physics major, i am pretty scientifically oriented although i participated in many language based activities ex new papers , lit mag etc. so i dont think if the college admin would have a bias about me being asian and studying math and sciences.
i want to be in a college with capabilities of building a large social network. that is why i am really considering cornell and/or other prestigious private schools. but i got introduced to cornell because my friend got in and i dont have any further knowledge of any other private schools. due to the lateness of me moving there, i dont know what other schools or range of schools fit me.
more random facts,
city or rural doesnt matter because if there is a college, there is potential for building a social network.
east side of this country probably would present more opportunity for my interests. plus i already live in NJ
the size of the school is not important.
religious doesnt matter, party school or not doesnt matter
liek i m a pretty adoptive guy since i move so many times in the past so i dont im not really picky i just would like a good school with in my range to go to that offers engineering major or physics. that is where most my interest lies. at least for college purposes.

<p>If you take the Math 2, you really do not need the Math 1. Math 2 goes through calculus. Most colleges only ask for two or three SAT II.</p>

then i realized colleges might not like a azn science oriented person based on admins are all either history,english or other humanities.</p>

<p>Okay, just to help you out with your identity and application status.</p>

<p>Your Ethnicity is NOT what citizenship you hold or where you live now. So for you, your ethnicity is Chinese. Under the citizenship column, you'll put dual national/dual passport and choose China and Canada. You don't put USA in either, so I think you have to apply as an international student because you're not a US permanent resident either yeah?</p>

<p>yeah China doesn allow dual citizenship, so i had to give up my chinese citizen to become a Canadian. but yeah ok
but srsly, i tried to look at colleges, but i still dont know my range. as in what is a reach for me, what is a target and whats a safety</p>

<p>If you plan to go into physics or engineering I would recommend Virginia Tech in Southern Virginia. They have a great program. </p>

<p>Virginia Tech would probably be a safety school if you kept your grades up.</p>

<p>Don't take BOTH the Math Level 1 and the Math Level 2 ! If you think you will do well in Math II (which you probably will if you're gona do AP calculus and are generally good at Math), then don't both with Math I</p>
