AEM at CALS -- PLEASE HELP

I am a transfer applicant for Fall 07. Originally, I was considering the ILR school in hopes of transferring. I have recently began to acquire more information on the Applied Economics + Management major at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I'd like to study business, and business only (I planned on majoring in management and minoring in marketing at my current school). As soon as I learned I can do that at Cornell...I called the admissions office for more info. From what the lady on the phone told me, I need some prerequisites prior to transferring: Calculus I, Bio 1 & 2 w/ Lab, Micro/Macroeconomics, Writing 1 + 2.

When I looked at the AP credit policy, I learned that a 3 on the AB portion of the calculus exam would grant me 4 credits as well as a 3 on the BC portion, which I have. I am registered to take Calculus I next semester at my school because no credit is given for scores less than 4. ( http://www.cals.cornell.edu/cals/current/registrar/current-students/upload/AP%20scores-2.pdf )
Should I bother taking it (with hopes of transfering to Cornell?) This is my dilemma: I do not want to take Bio and Calc at the same time. If I drop Calculus for Bio 1, that'll satisfy one of the prerequisites.

Basically, I will not be able to complete all the requirements prior to transferring...UNLESS I take courses over the summer session, which I am more than happy to do. I am currently meeting the Writing requirement as I bypassed Writing I at my school b/c of AP Lit (which CALS does as well) and am enrolled in Writing II instead. I will also meeting the Microeconomics requirement, as I will be taking it next semester.

So, if I keep Calculus I for next semester, I will be stuck taking Bio 1 and 2 and Macroeconomics over the summer. Will Cornell (CALS) accept this? Obviously they will not be able to see me grades before they make their decision, but is there some way I can mention I will be completing requirements over the summer? THANKS.

wait are you a GT?

no..never applied to cornell. i am applying as a transfer

hmm...well i'd say that since you can't do the prerecs before coming, you might not be accepted to AEM? maybe. so just go for ILR. it's an amazing program and you could still do the same business vocation that you were thinking.

no i'm saying i can complete the prerequisites before coming..just in the summer. when applying, i wouldn't have everything..but if i happen to get accepted, i would complete 3 courses during the summer. is there a way i can let the adcoms know this?

I just found at that CALS doesn't require SAT scores for transfers..which is not good in my case (not so great GPA). I'm not sure how they measure how valid an applicant's GPA considering some schools are more difficult than others. Does anyone else want to answer the original Q?

hey i’m also considering transferring into CALS. did you find out if they were ok with you completing some courses in the summer?
