Hi. I am currently doing my masters in mechanical engineering (1 year completed with 1 year left) and will begin my thesis in the fall. I am very interested in Aeronautical/Aerospace engineering and will definitely do my thesis in a fluids related area. All the electives and classes i have taken in my upper senior and graduate school studies have been aero related (i.e. CFD, Orbital Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Composites, etc). I have done 2 design projects thus far (none aero related) and currently i am helping my professor with his research in composites (but not a huge part). I am also going to be a part of the annual Design/Build/Fly contest held by AIAA each year where each school creates a remote control airplane. I am worried that I may not have significant research experience to get into a top aero masters program if i do plan to apply to one in the future. Neglecting all other factors (GPA, GRE, LOR's, etc), will my thesis be enough to showcase my viability in an aero program to do research or should i try to do more research related activities?

I plan in studying propulsion if I do apply and get accepted into an aero program of which i am currently researching through their respective school websites.

Thankyou
