AF Clothing

My mom wanted me to get me some AF clothing for christmas. Is there anywhere online to get AFA stuff like sweatshirts or t-shirts? Thanks

Lots to choose from here:

The Official Online Store Of The U.S. Air Force Academy Athletics: Merchandise, Apparel, Gifts & Collectibles

Thanks. That's what I was looking for.

Make sure you wear it all on R-Day, cadre love to see motivated cadet candidates. ;)

somehow I just don't believe you...

Bad Luigi, Bad Luigi....Next you will tell them to show up in "You Can't Train This" T-Shirt, or JROTC Uniform. Poor kid will have their own flight before nightfall on the first day.

Actually, I was going to suggest a simple Superman T-shirt under his Varsity Letterman jacket and Civil Air Patrol cap for a 2nd choice option. ;)

Ha ha! :)

Appointees - this will come up in later threads I'm sure (May/June), but please, avoid wearing anything AF-related to Inprocessing. It's not a good time to stand out, and you really don't want to be "that guy."

No I was planning on wearing my "Go Navy! Beat AF" shirt. haha

Yeah...and be careful about MySpace and Facebook too...

A guy in my Basic squadron decided he wanted to look cool before coming here, so he took a picture of himself looking all tough, and put an image of an F-22 behind him with lightning bolts all over the place. At the bottom, a line of text said "Living on the Edge".

When he came for Improcessing, he was harrassed by more Cadre than any other Basic...and then a bunch came from other Basic squadrons and trained him throughout the rest of 1st Beast. He regrets ever having that picture of himself on MySpace now...

Now, this guy is the exception, not the norm (he's the kind of guy who gets in a lot of trouble for showing off all the time), but don't be stupid with your webpages either once you get closer to I-day.

Check out our Inprocessing pics. He's the guy in the very first picture. As you can see, the cameraman followed him around for a while as he was politely introduced to various cadre members.

USAFA Class of 2011

Just come in with a good attitude and seem like a humble little Basic and you'll be fine. The ones that think they're the coolest thing since sliced bread are like cadre-magnets during I-day.
The bottom line is that you don't want to make I-day any worse or more stressful than it has to be. It really isn't that bad - 40,000 people have already made it through - but your cadre will make things interesting if they think you've got a poor attitude. Just keep that in mind and you'll all be fine.

Haha, that's awesome! (As long as you aren't "that guy.")

You know you are in trouble when you have a dozen cadre all focusing on you! Usually 3-4 is the absolute max if you haven't screwed up too bad.

i disagree. i would love to see some AF spirit this summer on I-day. and anything to stand out would make my day all the better! (in particular something poking fun at 2009 or 2010. that'd be great)

Bad Eagle, Bad Eagle your supposed to help these poor youngsters, not send them into the shark infested waters dipped in blood. Teach them to annonymous little insignificant specks so they can survive the 9 months ahead.

Yeah...PLEASE disregard what eagle36 said, and DON'T make fun of the Cadre classes. A friend of mine, when asked during Basic for a joke by a 2-degree (Class of 2009), replied, "Ma'am, 0-9." He got destroyed for the remainder of Basic.

"Ma'am, 0-9." That's great! ROFL I'm guessing he might have regretted that one later...at least a little bit.

I wouldn't reccomend that kind of thing for the first few days. If you can take it, it can be fun to poke a little fun at the cadre. (It can be fun for the cadre, too.) Just make sure you know who you are around and don't overdo it!

wow ds, do u talk to ur kids like they're two too? it's a joke, and pretty obvious. i;m just trying to lighten things up and get in a laugh or too. i can't imagine someone doing it cause some random s/n on CC told them too.

and it really isn't that bad. most ppl who stand out say they hated doing it during BCT and 4 dig year, but come later on, they love to laugh at what they did and went through
