Can anyone tell me just how many different cadet uniforms there are and what they are.

Wow, let's see...

BDUs (Battle Dress Uniforms)
Goretex jacket
Short and long sleeve blues
A-jackets (Athletic jackets)
Service dress
Parade dress
Parkas
Overcoats
Flight suits
PC Gear
Running suits
Bathrobes (technically)

A uniform for all occasions, I suppose.

EDIT - Does "the duke" count...? ;)

We cant forget Mess Dress. ;)

If "the duke" counts, you have to include the thermal ninja suit. ;)

Yes yes, very true. :)

how could you forget the amazing issued PJs?

raincoats, and im not sure but ive heard that 2012 may be getting issued ABU's...

What are ABU's?...

What's "the duke."

so, coming home as a 4dig, are you stuck to wearing some variation of your blues off base (w/ or w/o jacket) or can you sneak off in your flight suit? hehe ;)

You wear service dress en route then wear civvies at home...unless you're just strange.

please dont hurt me, but i come from army jrotc and of course we've got diff names for everythin. so, service dress = ? haha.. and the fam would love to see a real-live flight jacket! haha :)

Service Dress = Class A's

The duke is a story in itself....

i don't believe anyone, inlcuding upperclassmen, are authorized to wear the flight suit away from the academy unless they are actively tkaing part in a flight competition or something of that nature. if you are leaving base in uniform, you should be in some sort of blues or mess dress no matter your class, and freshmen have to be in service dress.

haha okay well just an honest question...

Will the USAFA uniforms change when the new AF class A's come out?

Most likely not. We are still wearing the Blues and Service Dress from the last change. Better said, we still have yet to switch to the CURRENT uniform much less considering the new uniform coming out!

USAFA cadet uniforms are all different that AD uniforms (the blues are a different shade, BDUs are the same except for patches, PC gear is different, etc).

I wish we could just go off base in the duke instead of changing into service dress. It'd be like an everlasting quad rave.
