After Acceptance/Recruitment should son be contacting coach on athletic achievement senior year?

My son was accepted and all set for next year, thank you for all your help in the process. My question is should he be communicating with the coach on his wins/achievements during the season or should I assume that he is following my son already? The coaches are busy with their season now I am sure.

If they are significant then yes. It can be as simple as a quick, and to the point email. Nothing too wordy. Coaches like keeping in touch with their future athletes and will often, in turn, communicate wins etc of the team to the recruit.

Our daughter is a committed track athlete and the coaches have been in contact via text since the signing. Her season hasn’t started but I’m sure they will already be watching. They already communicated that one of the coaches at least will be in the stands at the state track meet in June. But, of course, it doesn’t hurt to keep the communication open. You don’t want them thinking that now that the offer has been extended that interest has dropped off.

Yes thank you. He is already committed and has enrolled for ED1. Thank you, My son texted the coach because it was a significant win and was in the newspaper with my son’s wins, plus award that my son received from all the other coaches. The coach was very pleased to hear from my son and his achievement and more conversation was had between the two which is always a good thing.

I think most of the coaches/recruits start group chats. The kids start setting up roommates and get togethers if they are from the same area. My daughter plays a spring sport and she’d receive messages from the coach that X’s team won the quarter finals or Z scored 2 goals. My daughter had one new teammate (had been a club teammate too) who played for our arch rival high school so we knew what she was up to!
