i plan on majoring in sociology but have been starting to worry about job availibity upon graduating. Is it still possible for me to get into the business field with a soc degree and possibly a minor in accounting?? from what i hear the major isnt as important as the experience you have. Employers would rather see work you've already done then take a bet on someone just because they hold a degree in the related field? tell me if im wrong.
if i am able to get experience, what are the requirements in applying for my mba? these questions must seem repititive and im sorry but just bored and curious. thanks

If you want to be an accountant, minoring in accounting wouldn't really help that much. the best thing to do would be get your PPA. for most people it only takes a year. besides, you need 150 hours of college course work to take the CPA anyways.

lets just say i wanted to work for like ernst & young as a financial analyst. would i be able to do so with a minor in accounting? i know a lot relies on who you know in the business field when trying to land a decent job, but is the major all that important? just as long as im not going to be an engineer or a doctor right?
