After I have been ACCEPTED

ok so i have been accepted to one of my top schools here is my concern
1- what is "bombing", and will it be better if i drop my science class or receive and F.
me and the teacher dont get along and i am not going to college for Science

“Bombing” a class simply means giving up and letting your grade slide. If you were getting a B+ first semester, and then gave up so that your final semester grade was a D, that would be bombing a course. As for your other question, you’d be better off dropping your science course, if it isn’t too late to do so. Colleges can and will rescind your acceptance if your grades fall drastically, especially if you fail a class.

Are you applying to an Ivy League school? If so, it might be a problem, but regardless of whatever top school you’re applying to, they can’t tell you what to and not to take. If they are that concerned that you aren’t trying that hard after they’ve accepted you, they calmly talk to them and see if there is anything that can be worked out.

It’d be better to drop the class than receive an F. But do realize that in college, you will still have courses you’d rather not take and teachers you don’t really like. If you are incapable of passing under those conditions, you have a problem that you need to resolve very quickly.

Generally you need to inform all colleges you apply to of any change in your curriculum.

The colleges considering your application believe you are taking science this year. Not informing them of dropping the course is tantamount to lying on your application, which is grounds for them to rescind your admission when they receive your final transcript in the spring.

It is much better to drop the class and be upfront with them about it. Discuss the matter with them in a mature manner. “the teacher doesn’t like me” and “I’m not doing science anyway” probably will not fly…at least not the way you want them to.
