Looks good to me! :) Of course they don't always do everything by the numbers - there's always that intangible factor - but based on these stats you seem to be a pretty good candidate.

Here's the problem with these chance threads. For a school like Cornell, it is pretty much a crapshoot, and people that many deem as highly qualified will be rejected. That being said, I think you have as good a chance as any to get in. I wouldn't be surprised if you are accepted, and I wouldn't be surprised if you are rejected.

BTW, Gmail doesn't suck!

Thanks NJB and congrats on Penn and Cornell.

I think a school like Cornell is much less a crapshoot than HYPSM..
They just dont compete with them and once you draw down from the top 5-7, the latter get much more predictable.

Am i arguing that I should get in? No, thats why the thread is here.
Do i want to get in? Yes. i would even rather go to Cornell over Penn.

"That being said, I think you have as good a chance as any to get in. I wouldn't be surprised if you are accepted, and I wouldn't be surprised if you are rejected. "
I wouldnt either.
But yeah, Im a bit insecure about my GPA, since i pushed my self a bit too much. But with my school a 4.15 GPA got a girl valedictorian and she got accepted to Harvard. A 4.2 GPA+ is unheard of at my school so when I see a 4.5-4.6 GPA for half of these kids all I can do is go "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....T?"

Duuude, wait 13 more days and you'll find out!

"Duuude, wait 13 more days and you'll find out!"
DUUUUUUUUDE
ITS
TOO
LONG
......
To......
.....
.....Wa-...
......
.....it
Ahhhh the wait is killing me.

Gmail doesn't blow.

OP:
1) GMAIL IS RAD.
2) Different schools have different GPA systems. A 4.15 weighted in one school may be a 4.5 weighted in another. You never know.
3) Good luck.

I got my account hacked a few years ago :(
This name came from VENGEANCE!!!

^ lol..as for your chances at Cornell, they are as good as all the other applicants..it will boil down to what the ad com is looking for..good luck

your app seems so similar to mine...
and to answer your question, cornell doens't look at writing;
1470 looks good to me =]

not getting this cornell likely must be driving you crazy

I'm not answering because you insult my favorite email provider.. :)

"I got my account hacked a few years ago."

Woah there. Note how you said A FEW YEARS AGO. Gmail has most def. changed since a few years ago.

Give it another tryyy.

"not getting this cornell likely must be driving you crazy "
Should I even answer? LOL.

"I'm not answering because you insult my favorite email provider.. '"
:(

"Woah there. Note how you said A FEW YEARS AGO. Gmail has most def. changed since a few years ago.

Give it another tryyy."
This is my aim screen name, my e-mail address and a few other things. It would take major restructuring to change this.

^ gmail does not blow however existentialism does (the theory)
and i have nothing of use to add here other than that

"gmail does not blow however existentialism does (the theory)

Why do i get the feeling that this was basically an empty post?
Haha. only kidding.

I think HYPS is more of a crapshot than Cornell. If you have the stats, you can get probably get in one of the HYPS or Dartmouth or Penn or Brown, but you may not get in Cornell because Cornell is much more fit-based.

i think you might still get in even without the likely letter

I think you are IN.

Good luck and let us know on the 31st!
