After the College Admissions Process

As a freshman at my 2nd choice school, when I had the opportunity to attend my 1st choice school, but didn't due to the financial aid package I received, one of the things I'd like to share with you guys is that, even though you may think that your 1st choice school is everything you want and you couldn't be happier any where else, y ou really can be happier elsewhere. I am personally in love with my school, and i'm happy my dad kicked some logic in to me when it came time to making a deposit. we would have had to paid 30K out of our pocket to attend 1st choice school but saved ourselves 20K by attending 2nd choice. Today, if you were to offer me admissions to both schools again with the cost = the same, I would still stick to where I'm at.

once you start school, one of the things you realize is that if you look back at the whole process and you'll see how dramatic and avoidable the whole admissions thing was. It's kind of superficial in the sense that you are blinded by stats, ratings, and names. You can easily be as happy at another school that isn't your first choice.

I see so many kids shell out thousands, just to attend a school, but in the end it's really not worth it because you can get an equally great education elsewhere for cheaper. i think it's just an AMerican Ego thing that comes with the colleg admissions process, where we want the biggest and the best.
