After The Tests...

So, most people on here have taken tests like: PSAT, SAT, AP, ACT, etc. (Did I miss any?) Anyway, whenever you put your email and address down and your scores come in, ALL the emails and letters pour in from various colleges. Now you know that they really aren't THAT interested in you, but it still feels nice to be noticed. So which colleges did you really like that sent you pamphlets or emails.
Mine: UPenn, Rhodes, W&L Univ, Tulane, Carleton, UChicago, Swarthmore, and Colgate.
The only reason why I like being sent the emails from them is because it gives me goals to attain if want to go anywhere, even if it isn't to any of those Univ. I can't do the easy way out. So what colleges attention got you interested? It definitively introduced me to colleges I had NEVER heard of.

After vigorously taking tests I like to smoke a cigarette whilst relaxing in bed.

In seriousness, I received letters but I filed them all away. I have one from Vandy sitting on my desk that I’m too lazy to file though.

I think Johns Hopkins and Lehigh both sent me stuff… although I’ll never get into either of those, it was a bit of a shock and made me happy. My top 3 colleges did send me stuff and I was really happy about that. I never did end up filling out those things and by now I’ve lost most of them.

@MutaRISC, haha it’s not like I stare at them fondly and whisper,“My precious!” I filed them away too, but before I could sort them, it was kind of hard to ignore them. And btw, you name kinda reminds me of the band Mutemath, almost wrote that down instead. :)

^ The meaning of my name is far nerdier than that. :)

Really?? Now I’m intrigued! Besides, who cares if its nerdy, my name on here was going to be MathIsGray for various reasons(I do like math, kinda).

Only test I took so far (rising sophomore) was the PSAT. Most of the college emails (thank god) go to spam. But I do get a lot of letters from colleges and political programs (put poli sci and potential major.) As for letters I feel like I’ve gotten a million from schools in Texas(which I do not live in). The only specific college I remember getting one from was Brown.

All of the colleges that have sent me stuff, not interested. None of them offered nursing.

typical day checking e-mail…
me: oh look there’s an e-mail that mentions my first name in the subject box
-clicks-
“rensselaer” “american university”
me: ಠ_ಠ why…

Has anybody got the Bards College early college (at 15 or 16) letter?

Muta: Yes, I did. I got a bunch of others, but I kind of blanked them out after a while. Also a lot of exorbitantly priced summer programs.
This is only from the PSAT. I didn’t put down my email address for that so I only got snail mail, which got my mom annoyed because I never remembered to throw the letters away when I’d finished reading them.

I got so much friggin mail and never opened any of it! The wonderful thing about the Internet is that you can find out anything you want to know about a school very easily, so their letters to you are completely unnecessary. By senior year, I didn’t even notice where the letters were from before I threw them on the pile. Some of them were just ridiculous and kind of ****ed me off because they were so wasteful; Yale sent a book (it doesn’t even count as a booklet when it’s over 100 pages!) that had thick, glossy pages and color pictures on the front and back of every. single. page.

When I finally got rid of it all, I barely managed to shove it all in a garbage bag (after taking picture next to the pile of course!). When I picked the bag up, it ripped and I had to start all over again with two bags.

Lots of schools let 9th graders take the PSAT, so if those 9th graders put down their email address, would colleges know the score? Also, do you have to put in your email address?
