Whats your opinion on it? does it actually save money over normal cash. In the process of selecting a meal plan. I think I’m gonna get 180 since the meals carry over, but I can’t decide about the cash…opinions?

I’m going with the 180 also, because of the carry over, and i’m not getting the aggie cash. unless you have a problem with money, id say that there isn’t much point of getting aggie cash. I think the main reason its an option is for parents who want to give their kids money, and they can somewhat know what they are spending it on.

i didn’t and it’s not super useful. just go with the meal plan

It’s a wash… Aggie cash is taxable… but you get a 10% discount when using it. Given the tax rate of nearly 10%… you are splitting hairs.

@VentureMan: Is regular cash not taxable?

Regular cash is totally acceptable everywear
. The Aggie Cash is likely more for Parents, who want to be sure their kids are adequately taken care of. The kids I know (my kid’s best friends) who are attending this year as freshmen (Fall 2010) started with the 180 meal plan, and ended up moving down to the 150 meal plan… both without Aggie dollars. These kids are athlete type kids their whole lives and in HS… but still couldn’t scarf down 180 meals a day. A bookworm kid will need the same or less.

So… my kids are are doing the 150 meal weekly without Aggie Dollars.

people tend to skip breakfast. 180 is good if you eat three meals a day seven days a week, but breakfast is way too early for most people

we can upgrade whenever we want right?
