Ahh! I'm so confused!!

<p>Okay, I have a couple problems with the common app:
1) I want to major in biochemistry-- so do I put A) Biological or biomedical sciences
B) Biology C) Chemistry or D) Other, and write it in?</p>

<p>2) Last year I did some independent science research for a thing called "World Food Prize Youth Institute"... I defended my paper at my local state U and got selected to go to the WFP Youth Institute Conference in Iowa.. It wasn't a competition, and I didn't win any awards in Iowa, other than the fact that I got to attend and present my paper...
I want to put this experience on my app, so does it belong under activities? Awards?</p>
