Man, this is tough.

Put it this way if both had equal oppertunities/pay i'd go in IB in a heart beat

but the world is not fair. finance has much more open doors/higher pay. i don't mind finance, but my passion is to travel so thats where IB comes in.

/just needed to rant

Go for International Business. You shouldn't be worried about the difference in salary; pursue the discipline that fits you the best, i.e. IB. Plus, traveling might be a lot more fun than a financial consultant or other finance jobs.

You can travel with any degree...think outside the box, man.

I find the concept of a degree in International Business pretty funny. As if the degree seekers alone are taught mystical concepts that no one but an International Business degree holder can/will ever learn! Or that the protocols/laws/whatever that are applicable to doing business outside the US are so unbelievably complicated that someone must devote 4 or more years to its study. Or that huge multinational companies will choose you over the next person because you have a degree in "International Business"! LOL.

C'mon now!

eng_dude you're right.
