The large number next to the VU financing option is the money you will pay out of your pocket. They are giving you the option of a payment plan through VU financing.

momdoc, how much money did your son receive from the villanova scholarship?

I got 0 aid

Am I the only one who sees “server error” on here…

I clicked on the view aid award and there is nothing. Does it mean i got 0 aid?

The server is probably overloaded. Try back a little later.

Just to reinforce what is stated above, the VU Financing Option is your out of pocket costs if you accept all of the loans, work study, etc. It means that for a fee, you can spread the costs out over 10 payments. Or, you can pay it out of your petty cash. (smirk)

We are thrilled and shocked at the package my D received. With a grant, scholarship and work study, we received more from Villanova than American University!! With all I had read about Villanova, we were not expecting this. She has been offered merit scholarships everywhere she has been accepted so far, but Villanova is the first to offer us any financial aid other than loans. Good Luck to all!

Hello everyone! I’m an international student from Asia. I got accepted to Villanova but no financial aid. Without aid, my family is unable to pay the tuitions (we need $15,000). I want to go to this school so badly. Is there anything I can do or that’s it for me? Should I write an e-mail to ask the office to reconsider my application? What should I do?
Thanks!

can anyone explain to me what this means?

To Maxhuang8: you have the option of an unsubsidized loan for 2,000 (1,000 a semester), an option of a subsidized loan of 3,500 (1,750 a semester), a work study aid of 3,000 (1,500 a semester), a perkins loan of 1,000 (500 a semester), and a 26,660 financial aid grant (13,330 a semester). The VU Financing Option is what you have left to pay if you accept all of the aid, you can pay it up front or over the course of 10 payments, as already explained above.

@Olini616, thanks! is this a lot of financial aid granted by universities? it seems like a lot… but I’m not really sure.

@Maxhuang8, yes this is a lot of money! should you accept all of the aid, you would recieve a total of $36,160 a year, and you would only be paying $18,490 a year (plus the loans that you would eventually have to pay back). This is very cheap compared to the original price of $54,650!

0 aid. I totally expect this.

I got a $30,500 merit award plus some loans… which I don’t think I actually need to take out at this point.

LilyEmery… $30.5K merit? you sure it merit and not FA grant? I think other than the like 20 full ride scholarships the merit award drops off fast, to like 12.5K max. What is the exact wording on your 30.5K award?

o aid!! I guess he won’t be going here :(

It’s a Tuition Exchange Scholoarship. If your parent is affiliated with another university you can apply for a 30,500 scholarship. About 8 are awarded yearly out of about 180 applicants.
