Hey there

So i have a question for students who attend Villanova.

So I received a very generous Villanova University Grant. This grant is only need-based and based on family income, household number, and many other factors but mostly income (from what I understand)

My parents made around 60,000$ last year (2012) and my grant was 24,000$.

Now, my father (as of April 16th 2013) has made around 25,000$ and told me that he expects to made around 70,000$ maybe 75,000$. My mother has a part time job that pays for food, gas, other expenses maybe under 5,000$.

My question is to the current students who roam the CC forums, Since my family has increased their income somewhat, will my Grant change significantly? or will it stay around the same? I ask current students in hope of someone is in my shoes or knows someone in my shoes.

Thank you.

I received the exact same aid package as you did ($24,000) and my parents made a little under 80k last year. Based on what I asked students many said that the package doesn’t change much from year to year. Hope this helps.

hey there. Thanks for your response. I am going to try to go on the college live chat tomorrow from 2-10pm EDT and see if someone can answer my question but thank you again!!

I just made a post about Villanova financial aid. I am also interested in other students experience. Below is my post.

My son has just completed his freshman year at Villanova University and we received his financial aid award by email this week. His award is $18,000 less then last year. Our AGI has only increased by $4,000 and tuition had a 4% increase from last year… I am posting this because if financial aid is a necessity to attend Villanova, please reconsider. I doubt he will be able to continue at Villanova and I can’t help but feel we wasted close to $40,000 last year for him to attend. Academic standing is good, no other influx of money, circumstances have remained the same. I specifically asked Villanova prior to son enrolling if the aid would remain consistent for four years and was told yes. Son gave up other partial 4 year scholarships for more money, to attend Villanova. I will be meeting with the Financial Aid department on Monday and will post the results.
