I am taking classes in spring and I still haven't found out how much I am receiving in aid. I have filled out my fafsa and I haven't gotten an email or a letter or anything describing my award amount. Does anyone know how I may find this out. Our financial aid office is closed during spring break so I can't find out through them.

Are you a continuing student? If so, you may have to let your school know that you are interested in aid for spring/summer classes. That's how it works where I work. Our students apply online for spring/summer aid - but they don't always get any. The annual limits apply for the entire year, so if you've used up your annual limits on Stafford and/or Pell, you may not have any aid available to you. Also, for loans you must be enrolled at least 1/2 time, just like during the rest of the year.

Another thought: Does your school include this summer in the 2008-09 award year, or in the 2009-10 award year? You would need to have the correct FAFSA on file.

Summer aid is not awarded routinely by many schools. You must let the aid office know you are enrolling in spring/summer classes & are interested in aid. Usually it's just loans or possibly work study - if you were less than full time during the year, you may have remaining Pell eligibility.

If you are a guest student at the school you will be attending for summer classes, you are not eligible for aid (including Stafford loans).
