Hi,
I'm really confused as to which scholarships to apply to and which uni's will give me adequate aid. I live in India and can pay about 15000 a year and have an SAT score of 2030.
School stats out of 100:
9th grade: 75
10th: 91
11th: 64
12th: expecting 70+

What does that GPA translate to? It sounds like it’s low. It’s hard to get merit aid or get accepted to schools that give FA to int’ls with a GPA that may be below a 3.0.

What is your Math + CR SAT score from ONE sitting?

It’s very doubtful that you’d get accepted to schools that give need-based aid to int’ls. As for merit scholarships, there are some that give to int’ls, but many had app deadlines of Dec 1st.

Junior year grades are important and yours seem very low.

Find out what your GPA is for grades 9 - 11.

I’m not sure what the GPA translates to.

Maths + CR from october is 780 + 610 = 1390

Thanks for replying (:
Is it possible to get conditional offers from uni’s like based on how much I get in my grade 12 finals cause I could really study for them.

Quick question, what would you think about writing about myself, that is, my life and what I want to do with it along with some interests for the common app topic of your choice essay?

You need to find the international students’ forum and read through that. You also need to get the procedures as to how to apply to colleges in the US.

Basically, if you need financial aid or scholarships, you need to eliminate any schools that do not offer them to international students, and apply to those that do. Your best chance to get money is to apply to schools where your test scores put in the top of the student body there.

Thanks, I wasn’t completely satisfied with the SAT scores so I’m taking them in Jan again. I know most schools state december as the last date but most of their financial aid deadlines are in feb so i thought they might have a look at a spectacular score from Jan (:

I’m familiar with most of the procedures, I was just curious as to which schools are really generous towards international
