I am a 45 yo male that has been found disabled and going to college to get my BS in Homeland Security. This a field related in college to my prior work. I have been trying to find any kind of fiancial aid or scholarships for disabled adults returning to school.Because of my income bracket 20,000-30,000.00 a year I can't get any federal help. This is considered below poverty level as far as the Feds are concerned but not as far as Education goes. I will be starting my next academic year in October, and the college is looking at not allowing me to continue unless I can get some aid, since they have funded me from the college itself and my account is getting to high they say.I only have 7000.00 in loans through them. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions? help me please! This is my only way to get off of disability and back in the work force. My heart might be shot but my brain is 100% Have a 3.6 GPA

Yes the government considers that for a single individual- with zero dependents $10,488 and below is poverty level

You should be eligible for Stafford loans ( everyone is), even subsidized depending on where you are attending school.

Depending on the reason for your disability- there are resources to help with retraining/education

Vocational Rehab services can sometimes provide money toward college, in appropriate circumstances.
