<p>What do you guys think of AIM profiles that have songs or poetry on it?</p>

<p>What's supposed to be on an AIM profile anyway?</p>

<p>What do you guys have on your profiles if anything?</p>

<p>Is anyone else semi-annoyed with the away messages that put pretentious quotes/poetry? I was always under the impression that it should be something like "At the movies, be back at 2, call cell if you need to." or the standard "I'm away from my computer right now." Why the need for this excessive creativity?</p>

<p>I think that "I am away from my computer" is just...boring. I mean...well, yes simply, it is, in my opinion - lol. I just like to add some personality to it. Wow its been awhile since I've been on AIM...but my quotes aren't really pretentious, just things that matter to me, or quotes I like that I think other people should hear cause they might like 'em, too.</p>

<p>I don't know, I just like to be expressive...or as much as one can with an internet system, lol, its not like they matter much, so I might as well just personalize it a bit.</p>

<p>I like MSN too. I deleted AIM even though all my buddies from the North East used it and told me to get it too. Even people from the South use it but I don't even like it, so I still stick with MSN and the few people that use it.</p>

<p>I was so confused once that when I had it for a while, I deleted the entire buddy list. I hated that thing, and after that I told myself I wasn't gonna fool around with it anymore. And ICQ was really bad too because it brought all this crap to my computer which took forever to take off.</p>

<p>ARGH....i HATE when ppl put "I am away from the computer right now," I don't know why...it's just a pet peeve...it's like....."well that's obvious"..</p>

no. wat's wrong with it? if people want to be creative, so be it. everyone has difference styles of making away messages.</p>

<p>how the views of each thread are calculated? Because if I'm logged in and click a thread and look at it and press "back" or even "College Discussion" at the top, it still has the same number of views. I tried the same thing when I wasn't logged in and it still didn't work.</p>

<p>So every new IP address that views the thread is counted? Okay, the IP address, would 2 computers very close to each other connected to the same connection have different or the same IP addresses?</p>

<p>thats what I think. I believe that the views are updated every 30 min unless admins have changed settings.</p>

<p>I pretty much put quotes of my friends that I think are funny...random crap, nothing really that meaningful. I do put song lyrics as away message sometimes but they're about like what I'm doing...something like, "Please don't spoil my day I'm miles away, and after all, I'm only sleeping." I don't know...I hate when people put like...Fallout Boy lyrics and are like YESSSSS teeenageeeee angggsssst. That's about all that tics me off. But whatever, people can put what they want. Better than nothing (most of the time).</p>
