<p>We’re approaching the age and era where nobody gets rejected outright, but instead “deferred”.</p>
<p>Just like how nowadays even the worst kid in kindergarten gets a sticker and the check-minus is abolished, a rejection could hurt someone’s self-esteem, but a deferral gives them hope, however false it may be.</p>
<p>On a real note, what was last year’s EA-deferred-then-accepted-in-May rate? 3%?</p>
<p>I think the OVERALL rd rate was around 3-4 % and 10% of deferred students were accepted</p>
