For an incoming freshman this Fall 2014, is it correct that to gain admittance into Kelley sophomore year one needs to get all Bs or better in business and other classes? Is this a guarantee? The website says this is what is needed to be considered.

ya, you will meet the criteria for “automatic admission” if you get a B or higher in each course. It is possible for somebody with a solid B in each course and a 3.0 GPA to get accepted while somebody with a 3.5 GPA and 1 C+ to get denied. Just the way it works.

Easier said than done btw. Don’t underestimate getting a B or higher, especially in your math and econ classes.

Thanks. Any advice on doing well in math and econ? I am in AP Calc and AP Macro right now.

stay away from finite and micro econ if you can until you are in Kelley. If you don’t get credit for your calc class and end up taking it here, take M119 (Business Calc.) no matter what. Even if you test into M112 (Calc. 1).

If you can’t avoid these classes, just study your butt off. Do as many practice exams as you can. Your going to have to know the material extremely well because the exams will cover a lot of material and be filled with tricks or oddly worded questions.

Here are the grade distributions for Finite

and here are the grade distributions for micro econ.

Just to give you a general idea of how people do in these classes. check out the class GPAs for those sections

Thank you! What courses do you suggest taking?
