Why are there all these threads saying “Help an Indian out.” Why can’t it just be “help me out?” I don’t get it…seems like a weird racial identifier…are you insecure about being an Indian? ooooookay.

I just wish people would stop subtly inserting their racial identity in the title of threads or in usernames. I don’t mean to be particularly like a jerk just to you man.

I’m just going to start suggesting Indiana University for all of these threads about Indians.

I have been in a CBSE board and your percentages are really low. People get a lot more usually than what you got. Your SAT is decent, work harder this year, you have get a good chance of cracking into them.

hahahah! sid! i thought you left these forums already! seems like you’ve been hanging around here! (:

aah… it’s pretty sad how indians don’t want to go to australia anymore (actually, the kids still love australia (ANU, UNSW and monash are all pretty darned awesome) but then, parents really don’t wanna send their kids there anymore). it’s all following those apparently racial attacks on indians there… well, i think they’re just random attacks that could happen to anyone, wherever, whenever- but then, they just get highlighted cuz of the media trying to create a hype! and i guess it’s this media hype which is ACTUALLY starting to create this sense of coldness between indians and aussies… it’s all pretty pathetic… how the media screws things up just for their $$$! go go go sid! promote your country, man! how’s MIT?

Well i m glad some one is smart enough to decipher the indian media these days.
I mean come on guys. It started with a cricket rivalry in which I admit both teams were at fault none more or less than the other. but damn its annoying to hear a couple of events that just so happen to clash out of coincidence turn into racial abuse.
I mean, u dont hear about every other nation yelling racism etc when an international is robbed in India.

100%Tuna, how did you go with your applications. I rarely come online anymore, especially now since its just premature to comment on college apps.
I am glad though that you have been able to see through this bandwagon effect that the media is trying to instill within the indian community.

I am just shocked at how naive some people can be…

I still expect an answer from the idiot who posted that statement

The parents are a prob when it comes to Aus, but the students themselves are probably smart enough to know the truth. At none of my friends think there are more chances of being killed in a racist attack in a top Aus univ than in a road accident on the way back from school
Btw, what is this Drexel univ? Never heard about it, and seeing as it came in the same line as Michigan , UIUC, Penn State, Northeastern and UWashington, I’m probably missing something :-/
