What summer programs can you apply to that are either all expenses paid or tuition free? I know of University of Notre Dame's Global Issues Seminar, but that only accepts 40 people...

I attended Global Issues last summer; it really wasn’t that difficult to get in. I did everything last minute and was accepted. Give it a shot, and you never know what can happen! :)

Good luck!

Yeah, applying isn’t hard at all, but I wanted to know if there were any other free-ish programs available just in case I didn’t get in. And it’s in Indiana (middle of nowhere for me) and a Catholic thing (I’m Catholic, but not exactly religious), so I’m kinda meh on that.

The Telluride Association Summer Programs are completely free–the Association will even pay travel expenses for needy students–but they are not easy to get into.

Yeah, I looked into TASP, but the applications process seemed really daunting, and it’s six weeks - I don’t think I’ll be able to take off that much time if I get a job this summer. And the application’s due in January, so I don’ think I’ll be able to start it now… I just started my app for GIS, I guess I’ll stick with that unless I find some other fabulous opportunity.

Ndlover93, could you share your approximate scores/information so we can see what we’re up against?

For TASP, you can get a work stipend for upwards of $500… Just saying…

PSAT: 206
ACT: 34
Rank(at the time) 18/606
Don’t remember what GPA was at the time
Extra Stuff: Band, various volunteering activities.
AP Scores: 5 World History, 4 Computer Science A (up until then)

Not sure what else to include?

@Abyssion - I never got recommended for it anyway :)

@ndlover93 - I only have my PSAT score available for GIS. Should I have put ND down for SAT score reporting if I’m not even taking it until the 22nd of January?

does anyone of u know such a program for international student doing his ug abroad ,in my case india
?

@ravenclaw: anyone can apply, its based more on you essays than on your PSAT scores or anything like that

@eldiablo1: i’m pretty sure TASP is open to international students, and i believe most college sponsored summer programs are open to internationals, but i’m not 100% sure

thanks for the reply
