Would you go to an all guy or girl school, if it has the best academics among the colleges your able to get into?

I vote yes.

no way, never

Not a chance in hell.

ditto...never

never for me. lol.

i dont even know an all-male school...

not for me

There's an all-male school next door to mine (Washington and Lee) - Virginia Military Institute

hell yeah! In the fall, I'll be attending a small, private, all girls liberal arts college in VA called Sweet Briar College. I only applied to Sweet Briar, and once I got in (Early Decision), I didn't do any more college applications. Sweet Briar was just so perfect for me in so many ways. Honestly, it didn't bother me that it was all-girls. Although I wasn't pressured to applied to any all-girls colleges, it does run in the family- my older sister attends a small, private LAC similar to Sweet Briar, and my mom went to Wellsley (and later Stanford Law).

If it were the best I could get into, probably yes. Although I do enjoy having men around, if the co-ed schools I got into were significantly worse, I would suck it up and deal.

Yes. I would've loved to go to Barnard or Wellesley. Alas, I didn't apply to either, and the cost would've been a problem.

id rather go to community college than an all guy school.

I'm still considering Wellesley (i'm a transfer student, don't have to answer until later).

Ewww no way! I don't see why so many girls go to all girls schools. guys would never do that haha

Actually, the guys at Wabash and Hampden-Sydney would.

Im looking into wabash right now hehe. I have a physics class of 12 students, all of which are guys, and its cool. So maybe it's not so bad. My problem is that I want to be able to party, and meet girls in college, but Wabash doesn't have that. Oh well, it's a very school school still.

My daugher will be attending Smith College in the fall. She applied to two co-ed schools and two women's schools. The women's colleges had a more focused feel than the co-ed schools. Much less of a party, mingling atmosphere. For women, I think there is less cattiness, too. I suspect there will be more opportunities to interact with girls at Wabash than you might expect. When there's a will there's a way.

Would I go to a girl's school? No.

Woman's college? Yes. I would, and I did.

If my son was interested in Hampden-Sydney, Wabash, or Deep Springs, I'd be behind him all the way. They're great options.

Your college experience is not defined by how many members of the opposite sex are in English 101 with you.

I am sending my future daughter (who isn't born yet...) to an all girls school. fo sheezy. I know wut guys like me are like and think about. NO way jose!

i want the male/female ratio to closely resemble that of the world.

I strongly considered Wellesley, but ended up not choosing it. The fact that it was all girls was not really a positive or a negative when I was considering it.
