Hi Everyone,

So Ive officially applied ED to Penns School of Arts and Sciences.
Penn is (really) my dream school, so PLEASE be honest. Do you think I have a chance ?

Everything Ive written is true. My grades are really what could kill me.

Breakdown : Math 720, CR 790, Writing 800

MY GRADES :
This is where it gets tricky. My school doesnt report a GPA or Class Rank, so I cant be sure.

But, my sophomore year I had mostly Bs. Then, my Junior year I stepped it up and only had one B+ in Physics. My first semester senior grades are As except for a B+ in English (which I think Ill be able to bring up).

My average is at least a 3.5 because that was necessary to be inducted into, but thats my only indication of GPA.

AWARDS:
- Three Gold Medals in the National Latin Exam
- One Gold Medal in the National Medusa Mythology Exam
- One Silver Medan in the National French Contest
- Three National Model United Nations Awards
*at the school level: Ive won Latin awards consistently, have a full merit scholarship, and am MVP of the Lacrosse Team

HOOK :
- Im bilingual : I speak Italian fluently.
- Im a first generation American and college student
- I plan on studying Classics in college : something few people do
- TWO well established Penn professors have contacted Admissions telling them that Id be a good fit (they are both Classics profs whom I do not know personally ; I met with them and they liked me)

EXTRA CURRICULARS :
- Model United Nations : president
- Varsity Lacrosse : captain
- Campus Ministry/ Community Service
- National Honor Society
- National Classics Society of New York

Latin IV

As for work experience, I had a great internship with a world famous NPO (I'm not saying the name for internet safety purposes) where I used my Italian and French skills to translate documents.

I have also earned 8 college credits at Harvard University for classes I took in :
Adolescent Literature (Grade- A)
Creative Writing (Grade- B)

I have also taken courses (no credit) at Brown and Amherst

Please let me know HONESTLY what you think. No need to be mean : I just want honesty.

I really love Penn, but I know my grades may not meet the standard.

nb. I go to a very small school (grad class of 50) and 5 others are applying to Penn ED
