@ all law students: What did you major in?

Hello everyone.
I'm curious to know what you majored in/ will major in to get into Law school :)

math is what i majored in

In our legal department, we have lawyers who majored in accounting, education, philosophy, French, criminology, health care admininstration, poli-sci and engineering. NONE of them use their undergraduate expertise in our industry, except perhaps the person who was a CPA (occasionally someone will ask him an accounting question, and he refers them to the accounting department) or the teacher (runs training sessions sometimes on legal topics of interest to business lines).

I basically agree with Neonzeus, having been a partner at a major law firm. Except for areas such as health law, IP, or environmental law where undergrad majors in those fields are useful, one’s undergrad degree really is not relevant to one’s practice area. The key is to major in something that makes you read, write, and think critically.

don’t mean to hijack, but i’m majoring in accounting and getting my masters in business taxation next year. will this background be helpful for me in T14 admissions if i show an interest in practicing tax law?
