All Male/Girl Schools

I just checked out Wabash and was pretty impressed. Academics seem pretty strong, good group of people, and administration seems really nice. Only downfall was the food, and not having many things to do.

I didn't really seem to notice the all guy environment, for I came Friday, and dorm that night, and stayed until Saturday. There were just as many girls Friday as there are guys at the school. I liked the all guy environment in the classrooms; it seemed as if students spoke up more.

What are your views on single sex education? I'd like to get some responses from people that have seen it, and not just forming an opinion based on what they 'believe' it's like.

The reason I'm asking, is because I'm considering applying to Wabash, but feel that I couldn't truly understand it after just being there for two days.

Anything you would like to note about the single sex environment?

I haven't experienced it myself, but I've "observed" it if you will, and you make a good observation. People do tend to speak up more. Because you're not worried about sounding dumb in front of the opposite sex, or trying to impress the opposite sex. I've found it's not for me, but I think it's a great option, and the really great thing about Wabash is it's a more traditional classy way down there, so it's not akward being all guys.

VERY good for lower/middle school - but IMO college should be co-ed. <---went to an all boys for majority of grade school

I think it would be odd to go from co-ed to all boys though...certainly for in class it is a better arrangement but college is more then that. Hence my comments above.
